Internship for a product designer
Studio Bas Sala/Smart Rain Barrel, Rotterdam (NL)
For our design studio we are looking for open-minded creative people who love to design and to make. Studio Bas Sala is a small interdisciplinary design studio in Rotterdam. We design and make products, objects, and (interactive) installations. We focus on designs to help reduce the impact of climate change. The next months we will be working on circular product concepts and products. Our smart rain barrel (www.slommeregenton.nl) is an example of one of those products.
Our team is a mixture of creative people and technicians. We are creatively driven. This means that the technique is supportive to the design and look and feel of the products.
This we expect from you :
- You like both computer and practical work and have experience with building products, furniture, models;
-You work independently;
-You have knowledge of at least one 3D design program;
-You study product design / industrial design / furniture design / interior design, or similar.

Studio Bas Sala is located in the city center of Rotterdam. Our production facility is located in the harbor area in South Rotterdam

We are looking for an intern product design to join our team.
Studio Bas Sala and the Smart Regent
Studio Bas Sala is a small interdisciplinary design agency in Rotterdam.
We design and develop innovative products. Interactivity and research by design play an important role in our work. We are currently working on making our Smart Rain Barrel circular.
We are looking for a product designer intern who works on various design assignments.
What do we expect from you:
You study product design at an academy/university (We do not offer internships to IPO students);
You have previously studied production processes aimed at circularity, among other things;
You like to work with your hands and you like to build your prototypes;
You master at least one 3d software package;
You are fluent in Dutch both in writing and speech;
What do we offer:
A dynamic internship (no day is the same);
A small but experienced team with a passion for developing innovative circular products;
An internship allowance of 150 euros per month. We do not offer a travel allowance, but you will have access to a Studio Bas Sala bicycle.
A studio with well-equipped classical and digital workplace. We develop our products by making, testing and improving them.
Studio Bas Sala is located in the Zomerhofkwartier in the center of Rotterdam. This is within walking distance of the station. We have an office, electronics workshop, digital workshop with 3D printers and CNC milling. We have a second building in the port of Rotterdam. That's where the larger objects are created.
