Internships for a product designer, graphic designer and a electronic/software developer. 

Starting February 2019

 

For our design studio we are looking for open-minded creative people who both love to design and to make.

Studio Bas Sala is a small interdisciplinary design studio in Rotterdam. We design and make products, objects, and (interactive) installations. We operate globally with projects in Europe and Latin America. We focus on product design and interactivity.

Our designs invite you to sit, play, think, do nothing and often raise a smile. Innovation, interdisciplinary cooperation (with professionals and non-professionals) and qualitatively high end products play a central role in our work. Many of our projects are self initiated and focus not only on the physical design, but also on the way they are used.In our well equipped workshop (Including cnc mills, 3d printer) we produce our products and make architectural and urban models for other companies

We work on the following projects:

  • We design a new concept for rain barrels. This sounds dull. But is far from that its an interactive smart rain barrel system. We design both small ones for the garden and XXXL sculpture like big ones for the public space.

  • We design a waterinpsiration object for a primary school

  • We design a watesystem together with Museum Rotterdam in Rotterdam South

  • We work on architecture models.

  • We organize a festival: We love public space.

Open position product designer

This we expect from you :

  • You like both computer and practical work and have experience with building products, furniture, models;

  • You are curious and interested in many things and love to design products;

  • You work independently;

  • You study product design / industrial design / furniture design / interior design, etc.;

  • You are available for at least 5 months.

​

Open position graphic/interaction designer

  • You love interaction design. Your motto is: integration of digital and physiscal word leads to great products;

  • You are curious and interested in many things. You have an open view towards new things;

  • You work independently but teamwork is essential for a good designproces;

  • You study CMGT, CMD, graphic design or similar.

​

Open position electronics engineer/software developer

  • You love electronics and like to develop electronics and/or software;

  • You are curious and interested in many things. You have an open view towards new things;

  • You work independently but teamwork is essential for a good designproces;

  • You study elektrotechnic, Embedded engineering, Embeded systems, Software engineering or similar.

What we offer:

  • A dynamic internship;

  • A young but highly experienced team;

  • Insights into our many and varied projects;

  • An allowance of € 150.- per month* .

 

How does the application procedure go ?

Step 1. Fill out the online form;

Step 2. You are invited at our studio to talk about your work (or we do a skype talk);

Step 3. We will give you an assignment t that meets the recuirements of the educational institution.

The assignment is based on you skills, interests and off course on the things we as a studio are working on and you can contribute to. 
 

Studio Bas Sala is located in Rotterdam, in the midst of the cultural hotspot Zoho.
